Through a combination of internal and external efforts, we strive to minimize our environmental impact and foster a culture of resource conservation. This policy outlines our approach to environmental stewardship and provides guidance on how we manage our energy use, waste, and purchasing practices.

We aim to conserve energy, water, and natural resources across all facets of our operations. This includes implementing practices such as using natural lighting and solar energy where possible, and ensuring that lighting and appliances are turned off in unoccupied rooms. We are also dedicated to conserving water by installing dual flush low-flow toilets, planting native drought-tolerant plants, and using a drip irrigation system for landscaping. By adopting these practices, we reduce our overall consumption and promote sustainability in our workplace.

Reducing, reusing, and recycling are core components of our environmental strategy. We strive to increase waste diversion by recycling materials such as paper, cardboard, wood, metals, bottles, plastics, packaging, and cans. We are committed to composting all food and landscape waste and have set a goal to increase recycling and composting capacity to 95%. To further minimize waste, we encourage the reuse of envelopes and packaging and support the purchase of reusable products. Additionally, we promote the use of cloth towels instead of paper towels, and donate reusable office items, such as appliances, electronics, and furniture, to charitable organizations.

Our approach to toxics reduction focuses on eliminating harmful chemicals from our operations. We choose Green Seal-certified janitorial cleaning products and only use recycled content products and materials. To further reduce harmful substances, we purchase No VOC paints, markers, and air fresheners, and recycle universal wastes. We prohibit purchasing hazardous wastes and only buy rechargeable batteries and appliances, thereby reducing our environmental footprint.

In line with our commitment to sustainable purchasing, we prioritize environmentally preferable products. This includes purchasing remanufactured and refillable toner cartridges, office and toilet paper made from 100% recycled content, and tree-free paper. We avoid products with excessive packaging, such as plastic, polystyrene, or aerosol containers, and opt for office furniture and supplies with recycled content. Additionally, we promote the use of refillable bottles, canvas bags, and reusable to-go containers. We purchase Energy Star-rated appliances and office equipment to reduce energy consumption and install water-efficient toilets, shower heads, and faucet aerators to further conserve water.

To reduce the environmental impact of transportation, we encourage the use of public transit and promote biking to work. We also offer telecommuting options to employees, reducing the need for daily commuting. Our participation in initiatives like "Spare the Air," "Climate Smart," and energy-saving campaigns demonstrates our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.

When remodeling or constructing new facilities, we strive to meet LEED Green Building Standards, ensuring that our physical spaces are energy-efficient and environmentally responsible.

We also recognize the importance of employee education in achieving our sustainability goals. We host zero-waste events, ensuring that company picnics and meetings generate no waste. Training programs and brown bag sessions are held to educate employees on proper recycling, composting practices, and resource conservation. We offer incentives to encourage environmentally preferable practices, such as recognizing "Recycling Champions" and "Transit Heroes." Employees are regularly informed of environmental issues through company newsletters, training materials, and staff meeting discussions.
